The Vaselines - Dying for It & Molly's Lips

Formed in 1986, initially as a duo Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee. They signed to 53rd and 3rd label and recorded the "Son of a Gun EP", featuring a cover of Divine's "You Think You're a Man" in 1987. With Stephen Pastel producing, they recorded "Dying for It EP" in 1988. In 1989 they released their first album "Dum-Dum" on 53rd and 3rd Records. They briefly reformed in 1990 to open for Nirvana when they played in Edinburgh. Kelly went on to formed Captain America (later renamed Eugenius). McKee founded the bands Painkillers in 1994 and Suckle in 1997 before releasing her first solo album. Nirvana covered  their songs "Son of a Gun" and "Molly's Lips".

Brian - Understand & Big Green Eyes

Acoustic pop duo by Ken Sweeney (ex-Instant Party) and Niall Austin, formed in 1989 in Dublin, Ireland. They released the albums "Understand (1991)" and "Bring Trouble (1999)" both on Setanta Records and the single "Brian" on Elefant Records in 1991.

Autour de Lucie - L'Accord Parfait & Les Anomalies

French pop rock band, founded by vocalist Valerie Leulliot, guitarist Olivier Durand and bassist Fabrice Dumont. The debut album "L'Echappée belle" was released on Le Village Vert in 1993,  including the song "Island" which was produced by Michael Head (The Pale Fountains). Then they released the albums "Immobile (1997)" and "Faux Mouvement (2000)" both on Le Village Vert. They reformed the band and released the new album "Ta Lumière Particulière" in 2015.

The Groovy Little Numbers - You Make My Head Explode & Happy Like Yesterday

Formed in the mid-80's in Scotland by Joe McAlinden, Catherine Steven and Gerard Love. The band only released two EPs "You Make My Head Explode" and "Happy Like Yesterday" both on 53rd & 3rd Records in 1988. The band split up and McAlinden joined BMX Bandits as a guitarist in 1991. Love joined Teenage Fanclub. Later McAlinden formed a new band Superstar and released five albums during the 90's. NOM with Sice formed The Boo Radleys.

80年代の半ばにスコットランドでJoe McAlinden, Catherine Steven, Gerard Loveによって結成。二枚のシングル "You Make My Head Explode"と"Happy Like Yesterday"を53rd & 3rd Recordsから1988年にリリース。解散後McAlindenはBMX Banditsにギタリストとして1991年に加入し、LoveはTeenage Fanclubを結成しました。後にMcAlindenは新たなバンド Superstarを結成し90年代に五枚目のアルバムをリリース～NOMはSiceと共にThe Boo Radleysを結成しました。

Weekend - The View from Her Room & Nostalgia

Formed by Alison Statton, following the split of Young Marble Giants in 1981. Statton began writing with Spike in Cardiff, Wales, before moving to London where she teamed up with Simon Booth. The band signed to Rough Trade Records in 1981 and released only one studio album "La Variété" with jazzy and afrobeat sounds in 1982. After splitting up in 1983, Simon Booth and Larry Stabbins formed Working Week.

Young Marble Giants解散後Alison Stattonによって1981年に結成。StattonはSpikeとWalesのカーディフで曲作りをスタート。後にロンドンへ移りSimon Boothと活動しました。Rough Trade Recordsと1981年に契約し、ジャジーでアフロビートなサウンドの唯一のアルバム "La Variété" を1982年にリリース。1983年の解散後Simon BoothとLarry StabbinsはWorking Weekを結成しました。

The Stone Roses - Elephant Stone, Sally Cinnamon & One Love

English Rock band formed in Manchster in 1983, consists of vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani and drummer Reni. One of the pioneering groups of the Madchester movement in the late 80's and the early 90's. They released the debut album "The Stone Roses" produced by John Leckie on Silvertone Records in 1989 and the second album "Second Coming" on major label Geffen Records in 1994. Their most famous single "Elephnt Stone" with Peter Hook (New Order) producing was released on Rough Trade Records in 1988. Their outdoor concert at Spike Island in Widnes on 27th May 1990 was attended by some 27,000 people. In the late 90's Squire formed The Seahorses and Reni formed The Rub. Brown released seven solo albums.

Summer Cats - Maybe pile & Wild rice & Super

Summer Cats est un groupe indie pop australien formé à Melbourne en 2006 par Hugh Owens, Irene Drossinos, Julia Nesbit, Scott Brewer et Scott Stevens (ex-The Earthmen). Le quintet est à créditer d'un excellent album, "Songs for tuesdays", paru en 2009 sur le label américain Slumberland Records. Entre 2007 et 2010, Summer Cats ont également sorti plusieurs singles sur différents labels : Popboomerang Records, Cloudberry Records, Knock Your Socks Off Records, Slumberland Records et WeePOP! Records.

The Charade - Monday Morning & A Tough Decision

Swedish pop band consists of Ingera Mattson, Mikael Mattson (Red Sleeping Beauty / The Shermans) and Magnus Karlsson (Happydeadmen). They signed to American Skipping Stones Records and released three albums "The Best is Yet to Come (2005)", "The Real Time Drama (2006)" and "Keeping Up Appearances (2008)".

Stereolab - Super-Electric, Ping Pong & French Disko

In 1990, McCarthy broke up and then Tim Gane formed Stereolab with Lætitia Sadier, born in France. They set up a record label Duophonic Super 45s and released the EP "Super-Electric" in 1991. Under the independent label Too Pure,  the group's first full-length album "Peng!" was released in 1992. A compilation album "Switched On" was released in 1992. A new vocalist and guitarist Mary Hansen, drummer Andy Ramsay, bassist Duncan Brown, and keyboardist Katharine Gifford joined the band and they were introduced by Sean O'Hagan of The High Llamas. They released the EP "Space Age Bachelor Pad Music" in 1993. Their first album under the major label Elektra Records, the album "Transient Rendom-Noise Bursts with Announcements" was released in 1993,  on Duophonic Ultra High Frequency Disks in the UK and the third album "Mars Audiac Quintet" was released in 1994, it was the last album to feature O'Hagan as a full-time member. The fourth album "Emperor Tomato Ketchup" was recorded with experimental instrumental arrangements by John McEntire of Tortoise in 1996. Released in 1997 the album "Dots and Loops" was their first album to enter the Billboard 200 charts, joined John McEntire and Jan St. Werner of German electropop duo Mouse on Mars. In 2002 Hansen was killed when hit by a bus. They released seven albums from 2000 to 2010.

BMX Bandits - Your Class & That Summer Feeling

Formed in Bellshill Scotland in 1982 by Duglas T. Stewart (ex-The Pretty Flowers), Frances McKee, Sean Dickson and Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub). McKee had left the band to start The Vaselines with Eugene Kelly. The band signed to 53rd & 3rd Records and released two singles "E102" and "What a Wonderful World" in 1986. Dickson left the band to focus on The Soup Dragons. The band released the first LP "Totally Groovy Live Experience (Live album)" on Avalanche Records. The first studio album "C86" (including "Disco Girl", "Your Class", "Whirlpool" and "Right Across the Street") was out on Click Records in 1990. Stewart's regular songwriting partners were Francis MacDonald, Norman Blake and David Scott of The Pearlfishers. They released the albums "Star Wars" on Vinyl Japan in 1991 and Creation Records released three albums  "Life Goes On (1993)", "Gettin' Dirty (1995)" and "Theme Park (1996)". A new female vocalist Rachel Mackenzie joined and the album "BMX Bandits in Space" was released on Elefant Records in 2012, with the help of Argentinian Cineplexx and Japanese rock band Plectrum. After the album's release Rachel departed the group. Chloe Philip  joined in 2013 and the tenth album "BMX Bandits Forever" was released on Elefant Records in 2017. A Korean singer Yeongene (Linus Blanket) released the album "Bonnie Gene : Yeogene in Scotland" with Stewart, Norman and Eugene on Poppydisc in 2010.

My Bloody Valentine - Strawberry Wine, Sunny Sundae Smile & Soon

Formed in Dublin in 1983, consists of Kevin Sheilds (vocals, guitar, sampler) and Colm O Ciosoig (drums, sampler), with Bilinda Butcher (vocals, guitar) and Debbie Googe (bass). They signed to Lazy Records and released the compilation album "Ecstasy and  Wine" in 1987 and then contracted with Creation Records in 1988, released several successful EP's and the albums "Isn't Anything (1988)" and "Loveless (1991) ". In 2012, Kevin announced plans to release My Bloody Valentine's third album "m b v" and released in 2013.

German Patrik Goldstein's project, sounds reminds us The Style Council and Elvis Costello. They released two albums "Home Run (1995)" and "Our Man in Soulburbia (1998)" on Pat Sounds. In 2002, Firestation Records released the third album "I Was A Teenage Pop Addict" and Japanese Quince Records released the fourth album "Le Connoisseur" in 2006. You should listen to the compilation album "Ready Steady Goldstoned LP 3" on Quince Records in 2000.

Formed in Long Island in 1991, consists of Michael Grace Jr., Andrea Vaughn, Darren Amadio, Gil Abad and Todd "Todbot" Karasik. They released several 7 inches singles on Harriet Records and A Turntable Friend Records during the 90's and two full-length albums "Love at Absolute Zero" in 1999 and "The Happiest Days of Our Lives : The Comlete Joan of Arc Tapes" in 2003 both on Double Agent Records. You should listen to the compilation ""Love at Absolute Zero / The Happiest Days of Our Lives" on Cloudberry Records in 2014.

Altered Images - Happy Birthday & I Could be Happy

Scottish new wave / post punk band, fronted by singer Clare Grogan and Gerard "Caesar" McNulty (guitar, later formed The Wake), formed in 1979. They released three albums "Happy Birthday (1981)", "Pinky Blue (1982)" and "Bite (1983)" on Epic Records.

シンガーのClare Grogan, Gerard "Caesar" McNulty (ギター、後にThe Wakeを結成)によって1979年に結成された、スコティッシュ・ニュー・ウエイブ / ポスト・パンク・バンド。彼らは三枚のアルバム "Happy Birthday (1981)", "Pinky Blue (1982), ""Bite (1983)" をEpic Recordsからリリースしました。

The Melons - From Hell to Helsinki & Strictly melonhead & Eskimo

Au début des années 90, alors qu'elle faisait partie des fabuleux Fat Tulips, Sheggi Clarkson a formé The Melons avec Vanessa Turner. Le duo a tout d'abord sorti sur Heaven Records en 1993 un flexi, "Show me wishes worth more than these", disponible avec le fanzine "Heaven sent". Suivront quatre singles : "Strictly melonhead" (Heaven Records, 1994), "From Hell to Helsinki" (Damaged Goods, 1995), "Fast Lane" (Damaged Goods, 1996) et "Black and blue / Eskimo" (Pickled Egg Records, 1997).

Sheggi Clarkson (Fat Tulips) formed The Melons in the beginning of the 90's with Vanessa Turner. The band firstly released in 1993 the flexi "Show me wishes worth more than these". Formed in 1986 in Nuremberg, Germany by Klaus Cornfield. They signed to September Gurls Records and released the two albums "Tweng !  (1988)" and "Large Marge Sent Us ! (1989)". They also released several 7 inches records on Siesta (Spain), Spin Art (US), Heaven (UK) Records during the 90's. They covered songs like Sex Pistols "Pretty Vacant ("Over and Over" EP / 1992)" and Pet Shop Boys "Suburbia ("Suburbia" EP / 1996)".

Formed in  in ドイツのNurembergにて1986年にKlaus Cornfield氏によって結成。September Gurls Recordsと契約し二枚のアルバム"Tweng !  (1988)"と"Large Marge Sent Us !
