The Lilac Time - Return to Yesterday and & Love for All

British indie rock band, formed in 1986 in Birmingham England, consists of Stephen Duffy, his brother Nick Duffy and Michael Weston in 1986. The band's name was taken from a line in the Nick Drake  song "River Man".  They released the self-titled album on Swordfish Records in 1987. Then they move to major label Fontana Records and then released two albums "Paradise Circus" in 1989 and "& Love for All" in 1990. Then they signed to Creation Records and released "Astronauts" in 1991. Stephen was a founding member of Duran Duran and created the band Tin Tin during the 80's. Also he formed  Me Me Me with Alex James (Blur) and released the solo album on Indolent Records during the 90's. Duffy reformed The Lilac Time with brother Nick and Michael Giri in the late-90's.

1986年にパーミンガムにてStephen Duffy, 彼の兄弟Nick Duffy, Michael Westonによって結成。 バンド名はNick Drakeの曲"River Man"から付けられたそうです。セルフ・タイトルのアルバムはSwordfish Recordsから1987年にリリース。その後Fontana Recordsへ移籍し "Paradise Circus (1989)" と"& Love for All (1990)"二枚のアルバムをリリース。 Creation Recordsと契約し  "Astronauts"を1991年に発表しました。80年代に StephenはDuran Duranの初期メンバーでバンドTin Tinも結成しました。90年代はバンドMe Me Me をAlex James (Blur)と共に結成、Indolent Recordsからソロ・アルバムもリリースしました。 90年代後期にDuffyは彼の兄弟NickとMichael Giriらと共にThe Lilac Timeを再結成しました。
