Doctor and The Medics - Spirit in the Sky and The Miracle of the Age

British glam rock band formed in London in 1981.  The group is best known for their cover of Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky (1969)", reached number one in the UK singles chart in 1986. Their first single "The Druids Are Here" was released on Dan Treacy's Whaam Records in 1982. They signed to IRS Records and released the single "The Miracle of the Age", produced by Andy Partridge of XTC.
