Heavenly - Our Love Is Heavenly, C Is Heavenly Option, Wrap Around Him and Atta Girl

Twee pop band, originally forming in Oxford England in 1989. Amelia Fletcher (vocals/guitar), Mathew Fletcher (drums / Amelia's brother), Peter Momtchiloff (guitar) and Robert Pursey (bass) had all been members of Talulah Gosh from the C86 scene. Their debut album "Heavenly vs. Satan" came out on Sarah Records in 1991. Before releasing the second album "Le Jardin de Heavenly" including "C is the Heavenly Option" feat. the guest vocals of K Records founder Calvin Johnson, Cathy Rogers (keyboardist) joined the band. Then they released two non-album 7's singles "P.U.N.K. Girl" and "Atta Girl". The band's third album was "The Decline and Fall of Heavenly (1994)" which was released in Britpop movement-era and their last album was "Operation Heavenly (1996)", contained a cover of the Serge Gainsbourg and France Gall's "Nous ne sommes pas des anges" on Wiiija label, despite closing of Sarah Records. The retrospective compilation album "A Bout de Heavenly : The Singles" will be  come out on Damaged Goods Records in December 2020.

オックスフォードで1989年に結成されたTweeポップ・バンドで、C86シーンからのTalulah GoshメンバーAmelia Fletcher (ボーカル / ギター), Mathew Fletcher (ドラム / Ameliaの弟), Peter Momtchiloff (ギター), Robert Pursey (ベース)全員によって結成。デビュー・アルバム"Heavenly vs. Satan"はSarah Recordsから1991年にリリースされました。K RecordsオーナーCalvin Johnsonがゲスト・ボーカルの曲"C is the Heavenly Option"収録のセカンド・アルバム"Le Jardin de Heavenly"リリース前にCathy Rogers (ギーボーディスト)が加入しました。その後アルバム未収録のシングル"P.U.N.K. Girl"と"Atta Girl"を発表。サード・アルバム"The Decline and Fall of Heavenly (1994)"はブリット・ポップ・ブーム期にリリースされ、最期のアルバム"Operation Heavenly (1996)"にはSerge Gainsbourg & France Gallの"Nous ne sommes pas des anges"カバーが収録、Sarah Records無き後Wiiijaレーベルから発売されました。回顧盤"A Bout de Heavenly : The Singles"はDamaged Goods Recordsから2020年12月にリリース予定です。
