Happy Mondays - Step On, Hallelujah and Kinky Afro

English rock band formed in Salford in 1980, consists of Shaun Ryder,  his brother Paul Ryder, Mark Day, Paul Davis  and Gary Whelan and Bez. 

They are influenced by funk and house to pioneer the Madchester sound. They signed to Factory Records and released five albums including "Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (1987)", "Bummed (1988)" produced by Martin Hannett. Their single "Madchester Rave On" was released in 1989. The singles "Step On" and "Kinky Afro" from Their album "Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches (1990)" produced by Paul Oakenfold & Steve Osborne,  both reached number 5 in the UK singles chart. Happy Mondays disbanded in 1993, Ryder and Bez formed Black Grape with ex-Paris Angels guitarist Wags.
