Comet Gain - Strength, Hideaway & The Kids at the Club


London-based indie pop & rock band, formed in Oxford in 1992 by David Feck and Phil Sutton. In 1995, they released the debut album "The Casino Classics" on Wiiija Records. Sarah Bleach, Jaxx Coombes and Sam Pluck joined in 1997 and members except David went on to form Velocette. The second album "Sneaky (1997)" was released on Beggars Banquet Records. Joined by new vocalist Rachel Evans, alongside bassist Kay Ishikawa and Darren Smyth on drums, they released the album "Tigertown Pictures" in 1999. John McKeown (The Yummy Fur), Jon Slade (ex-Huggy Bear) and Woodie Taylor (ex-Morrissey) joined the band and released the album "City Fallen Leaves" on Track and Field Records in 2005. The Album "Howl of Lonely Crowd (Fortuna Pop! - What's Your Rapture? / 2011 )" was produced by Edwyn Collins. They did great cover songs of Biff Bang Pow, New Order and Orange Juice. Benjamin Phillipson joined Kicker with Phil and James Hornsey joined The Clientele. They signed to Tapete Records and released the album  "Fireraisers Forever !" in 2019. Phil Sutton formed Pale Lights, The Projects, The Soft City and Love, Burns.
