The Monochrome Set - Wallflower, Jacob's Ladder & The Jet Set Junta

Formed in London in 1978, consists of  Indian-born lead singer Bid and Canadian guitarist Lester Square. They released the  debut album  "Strange Boutique" on Virgin Records in 1980. The band switched labels to Cherry Red Records to release the third album "Eligible Bachelors". Then they released the album "The Lost Weekend" on Blanco Y Negro Records in 1985. They joined the Cherry Red's compilation "Pillows & Prayers (1982)" and also Cherry Red Records released "Volume, Contrast, Brilliance...", a retrospective of early Rough Trade singles, BBC and Radio sessions and other unreleased early sessions. They served as Jessica Griffin's backing band on The first album by The Would-Be-Goods "The Camera Loves Me" in 1988. In the early 90's Bid, Square and Warren reformed the band and toured, especially in Japan. They  released the five albums for Vinyl Japan / Cherry Red Records during the 90's. Bid recorded a number of albums with his band Scarlet's Well. In 2014, they signed to the German label Tapete Records and released the 12th studio album "Spaces Everywhere" in 2015.

インド生まれのリード・シンガーBidとカナダ出身のギタリスト Lester Squareによって1978年にロンドンで結成。1980年にVirgin Recordsから"Strange Boutique"をリリース。1982年には Cherry Red Recordsへ移籍し1983年にサード・アルバム"Eligible Bachelors"をリリース。Cherry Red Recordsの"Pillows & Prayers (1982)"コンピレーション・アルバムに参加し、その後1985年にCherry Red Recordsから、初期のRough TradeからのシングルとBBC & ラジオ・セッションと他の初期の未発表曲を収録した回顧盤アルバム"Volume, Contrast, Brilliance..."をリリース。1988年にはJessica GriffinのThe Would-Be-Goods "The Camera Loves Me" でバック・バンドをつとめました。90年代初頭にBid, Square, Warrenによって再結成し、特に日本でツアーをしました。90年代にはVinyl JapanやCherry Red Recordsからアルバムをリリース。 during the 90's. BidはScarlet's Wellとしてもアルバムをリリース。2014年にドイツのレーベルTapete Recordsと契約し12枚目のアルバム"Spaces Everywhere"を2015年に発売しました。
