Flipper's Guitar - Groove Tube, Young Alive In Love & Coffee Milk Crazy


Formed in 1987, they were originally known as Lolipop Sonic, consisting of Keigo Oyamada (vocals, guitar) and Kenji Ozawa (guitar, vocals). In 1988 they signed to Polystar records, and released the debut album "Three Cheers for Our Side (1989)", this title was a homage to an Orange Juice song and produced  by Jin Yoshida (Salon Music). Then they released the second album "Camera Talk (1990)", including "Young, Alive, In Love" was featured as the main theme song for  the popular drama and also songs titled after Haircut 100 and The Colourfield. Their first single "Groove Tube" was featured the third album "Doctor Head's World Tower (1991)", influenced by House and Madchester/Baggy, similarity to "Fool's Gold" by The Stone Roses, "Soon" by My Bloody Valentine and "Come Together" by Primal Scream. They split in 1991 and their label Polystar Records has issued several compilation albums like "Colour Me Pop (1991)" and two members pursued solo careers. Ozawa began a solo career and released the album "The Dogs Bark But The Caravan Moves" On his own label. Oyamada began recording under the name of Cornelius.

元々はLolipop Sonicとして知られていて、Keigo Oyamada氏 (ボーカル / ギター) とKenji Ozawa氏 (ギター / ボーカル) によって1987年に結成。1988年にPolystar recordsと契約しデビュー・アルバム"Three Cheers for Our Side (1989)"をリリース、このタイトルはOrange Juiceの曲へのオマージュで、プロデューサーはSalon Musicの吉田仁氏が担当。その後セカンド・アルバム"Camera Talk (1990)"をリリース、今作には人気ドラマの主題歌となった"Young, Alive, In Love"が収録され、またHaircut 100やThe Colourfieldから付けられたソング・タイトル曲もありました。サード・アルバム"Doctor Head's World Tower (1991)"からの曲"Groove Tube"は、ハウスやマッドチェスター / バギーの影響を受けたもので、The Stone Rosesの "Fool's Gold"、 My Bloody Valentineの"Soon"、Primal Screamの "Come Together"などと似ていました。 1991年に解散し、彼らのレーベルPolystarは、"Colour Me Pop (1991)といった何枚かのコンピレーションをリリース。二人のメンバーはソロへ転向、Ozawa氏はソロとしてアルバム "The Dogs Bark But The Caravan Moves"を自主レーベルから~Oyamada氏はCorneliusとして活動。
