The Wild Swans - Whirlpool Heart, Immaculate & Northern England


Post-punk band from Liverpool England, formed in 1980 after Paul Simpson left The Teardrop Explodes, with Jeremy Kelly (guitar), Ged Quinn (keyboards), James Weston (bass) and Justin Stavely (drums). They toured with Echo and The Bunnymen in 1981 and their first single "The Revolutionary Spirit" was released on Zoo Records in 1982. Once the band split, Kelly and Quinn started up The Lotus Eaters with co-founder Peter Coyle. Simpson followed suit with the duo Care, teaming up with Ian Bloudie. In 1988, Quinn had dropped out and then they released the long-awaited debut album "Bringing Home The Ashes (1988)" and the second album "Space Flower (1990)", which was produced by Ian Broudie and joined Sharrock and McNabb were both of the member of The Icicle Works, both on Sire Records. In 2011, they released the album "The Coldest Winter for a Hundred Years" on Occultation Recordings, with the help of a guitarist Will Sergeant (Echo and the Bunnymen).

リバプール出身のポスト・パンク・バンドで、Paul SimpsonがThe Teardrop Explodesを脱退後、Jeremy Kelly (guitar), Ged Quinn (keyboards), James Weston (bass), Justin Stavely (drums)と共に1980年に結成。Echo and The Bunnymenと1981年にツアーし、ファースト・シングル"The Revolutionary Spirit" をZoo Recordsから1982年にリリース。バンドは解散しKellyとQuinnはThe Lotus EatersをPeter Coyle氏と結成。 SimpsonはIan BloudieとのデュオCareを続けました。1988年にQuinnは脱退し ましたが待望のデビュー・アルバム"Bringing Home The Ashes (1988)" を、セカンド・アルバム "Space Flower (1990)"はIan BroudieがプロデュースでThe Icicle WorksのメンバーSharrockとMcNabbも参加、両者共にSire Recordsからのリリースでした。2011年にアルバム"The Coldest Winter for a Hundred Years"をOccultation Recordingsからリリース、ギタリストのWill Sergeant (Echo and the Bunnymen)も参加しました。
