American rock band formed in Los Angeles California in 1992, consists of Rivers Cuomo, Matt Sharp, Patrik Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shriner. They signed to Geffen Records in 1993 and released the self-titled debut album (Blue album) with Rick Ocasek in 1994. They had eleven studio albums including "Pinkerton (1996)", "Weezer (Green album / 2001)". Matt left the band and formed The Rentals.
