Indonesian indie pop band Mocca belongs to F.F.W.D. Records. Marine, one of the owner of this label, runs Lou Belle Shop in Bandung too ! Let's talk about it with Marine !
インドネシアのMoccaはF.F.W.D. Recordsに所属しています。このレーベル・オーナーの1人Marineは、バンドゥンでLou Belle Shopもやっています。では、Marineさんに語ってもらいましよう！
Anorak Crumble : Please tell us about the story of birth of F.F.W.D. Records. Why did you decided to start the label ?
F.F.W.D. Recordsの誕生ストーリーを教えて下さい。何故レーベルをスタートすると決めたのですか？
Marine Ramdhani : Mmh... It happened in 1999, but the basic reason is because I like music since I was kid. My grandfather introduced me to Frank Sinatra and Andy William, and than my cousin also, they buy a lot of the Beatles cassette and Duran Duran... In 1999 in that time I hlistened to a lot of sounds cause after economic crisis era... Then Helvi asked me to make the label. It's a music things, so we decided to release The Cherry Orchard, and I agreed cause I like the song and the cover also very colorfull and catchy.
それは1999年に始まったけど、子供の時から僕が音楽を好きだったからなんだ。僕の祖父や従兄弟がSinatra and Andy Williamを教えてくれて。彼らはThe BeatlesやDuran Duranを沢山買っていた。1999年の経済危機の時に、沢山の音楽を聴いた。…その後Helviがレーベルをやろうと訊いてきた…音楽の事を。なので僕達はThe Cherry Orchardをリリースすることに決めた。僕は同意しました、何故なら曲が好きだしカバーもまたカラフルでキャッチーだったから。
Anorak Crumble : How is your life in Bandung Indonesia ? Are there any good record labels, clubs, etc ? Do you know Shiny Happy Records ?
インドネシアはバンドゥンでの生活はどんな感じですか？良いレーベルやクラブはありますか？Shiny Happy Recordsは知っていますか？
Marine Ramdhani : Mmh... Bandung is Bandung. I love this city and learn from this city, being like this also cause of this city. I like when the weather is cold and make slow. I grow with a lot of musicians, like when I was in junior high school. Lot of my friends are musicians, one of them influenced me to start dig more. Pure Saturday is one of them. And my first records also. I buy them when I was in junior high school. And now I’m older and I try to enjoy my family life. Bandung is a small city so there are not so many clubs here like in Jakarta. It's difficult to organize gigs in the clubs that's what I feel now. Shiny Happy Records ? Yeah of course I know them ! I like to dig new pop labels and new pop bands, so I found these records through their releases. I think they are one of the most productive pop label in Indonesia now. I think they release a lot of band in cassette medium. Then in 2016 I try to sell their releases in my shop too, but I never met the owner until now. One day one day maybe ! Just for a talk and with a cup of coffee.
バンドゥンはバンドゥンさ、この街が大好きさ。この街から学んでいる。寒くてゆっくりとした所が好きだ。僕は沢山のミュージシャンと共に育った、中学の時に沢山のミュージシャンと友達だった。その中の1つに影響を受けて更に掘り下げ始めた。Pure Saturdayがそうさ。中学の時に買った初めてのレコードだった。今は僕も歳を取りファミリー・ライフを楽しんでいる。
Clubs : バンドゥンは小さな街でジャカルタのように沢山のクラブは無いよ。クラブでギグをやるのは難しい。
Shiny Happy Records : もちろん知っています。新しいポップ・レーベルや新しいバンドの発掘するのが好きなので、彼らのレコードを見つけたよ。今インドネシアで、プロダクティプなポップ・レーベルの1つだと思う。彼らはカセットで沢山のバンドをリリースしている。2016年に僕の店で彼らのリリースを売ろうとしたけど、これまでオーナーに会ったことが無いんだ。いつの日かコーヒーでも飲んで話したいな。

Marine Ramdhani : Yes of course I know them ! All these bands are released under F.F.W.D. Records, there’s no reason to not know them ! And they are all my friends also as bands and personally. My partner Helvi ask me first before we decide to their release.
もちろんこれらのバンド達を知っています、彼らはFFWD Recordsからのリリースだからね。最終的には僕のパーソナルな友達となりました。リリースを決める前に僕のパートナーHelviが最初に尋ねるんだけど…
Anorak Crumble : Is still Mocca very famous in Indonesia ?
Moccaはまだインドネシアでとても有名ですか？
Marine Ramdhani : Hahaha I don’t know and I don’t care also. I never count how many famous they are. I just love their music that’s it ! I also release them cause I love their songs, they don't want to be famous and they grow by themselves... We never expect anything but through this band I got a lot of friends around the world and can see a lot of fact around the world (including meet you also lol).
分からないよ気にしていないし。ただ彼らの音楽が好きなだけだ。彼らの音楽が好きだからリリースするんだ。有名になりたいからでは無い。彼らは彼ら自身で成長していて…僕達は何も期待していない。このバンドを通して世界中に沢山の友達が出来た。世界の事実を知ったよ(君にも会ったこと含めて)。
Anorak Crumble : Can you please tell us about Lou Belle Shop ?
Lou Belle Shopについて教えて下さい。
Marine Ramdhani : It's a lifestyle shop. It's also a space to make gigs and sell some stuff that I like and that I believe in. Lou belle concept is to sell toys, music or records and clothing. I decided to run Lou belle since 2009 and through Lou belle you can describe who am I.
ライフスタイル・ショップで、ギグのスペースもあるし僕が好きなものを売っている。Lou Belleのコンセプトは、オモチャと音楽とレコードと洋服を売ること。2009年にLou Belleを経営することに決めたんだ。…だけどLou Belleは僕のことについて述べたものさ。
Anorak Crumble : When did you start to listen to indie pop music ?
いつ頃からインディ・ポップを聴き始めましたか？
Marine Ramdhani : You mean indie pop or twee or another pop song... I don’t remember maybe around 1996. I listened to Blueboy in mp3 on my computer... Yes, when we started to connect to internet it was more intense and provided some access to around the world.
インディ・ポップかTwee Popか別のポップ・ソングか…思い出せないけど1996年くらいに、Twee popのBlueboyのmp3をコンピューターで聴いて…そうインターネットに接続して世界中にアクセスした時に。
Anorak Crumble : What are your favourite bands of all time ? Are there good indie pop bands in Malaysia too ?
あなたのお気に入りのバンドは？マレーシアにも良いインデｨ・ポップ・バンドは居ますか？
Marine Ramdhani : Hahaha I just remember now. The name of the band is Juliet the Orange !
