C'est à Bristol en 1988 que Mike Eagle (chant,guitare) et John Foster (chant, basse) ont formé The Driscolls, rejoints ensuite par James King (chant, guitare) et différents batteurs (Martin Hutt, Les Parry, Paul Forester, Michele Shillace). Leur musique ? Une combinaison parfaite de sonorités 60's mod et d'indie pop jangly ! Entre 1988 et 1991, le groupe a sorti deux 45 tours sur Restless Records, un split flexi avec Strawberry Story sur Woosh !, un 45 tours et un mini-album sur Tea Time Records (le label de John Foster). En 2014, le label américain Jigsaw Records a publié un double CD compilation ("Complete recordings : 1988-1991") regroupant tous leurs disques, des démos, des inédits et des morceaux figurant sur diverses compilations.

Their music was a pefect mix of 60's mod and jangly indie pop. Between 1988 and 1991, the band released two 7"s via Restless Records, one split flexi with Strawberry Story through Woosh !, one 7" and one mini-album via Tea Time Records (John Foster's label). In 2014, the american label Jigsaw Records released a double CD compilation including all their singles, compilation tracks and unreleased studio demos.
